About Dr. Jodi Medell

My Beginning in Physical Therapy

My professional journey began in physical therapy, where I spent years helping people recover from injuries, surgeries, and chronic pain.

I loved the work. I loved helping people move again, regain strength, and reclaim their lives.

But over time, something began to bother me.

Many of my patients were doing everything right - exercising, completing therapy, following instructions - yet they continued to struggle with persistent symptoms.

Pain that wouldn’t resolve.

Fatigue that didn’t make sense.

Bodies that simply didn’t seem to recover the way they should.

It became clear to me that something deeper was happening.

Discovering the Missing Pieces

As I began to study functional medicine, and entirely new layer of understanding opened.

I started to see how deeply physiology influences structure.

Hormones, inflammation, gut health, metabolic function, and nutrient status all affect how tissues heal, how muscles function, and how energy is produced.

But there was still another layer.

The nervous system.

Many people were living in a state of chronic stress and dysregulation without realizing it. Their bodies were operating in survival mode, making true healing incredibly difficult.

What became clear was this:

Most healthcare addresses one system at a time.

But the body doesn’t work that way.

The Realization

Healing occurs when three systems come back into relationship with each other.

Physiology

Structure

Nervous System

When these systems are out of alignment, symptoms appear.

When they begin to reconnect and regulate together, the body can finally move toward healing.

This realization led to the development of The Healing Continuum Method™

My Philosophy

I believe that the body is inherently designed to heal.

But healing requires the right conditions.

When physiology is supported, structure is aligned, and the nervous system feels safe, the body has an extraordinary capacity to recover.

My role is to help guide people along that path.
